Christ In The City

Christ in the City is a homeless outreach program based in Denver, Colorado, whose mission is to grow in relationship with Jesus and serve the poor by creating authentic friendships with the homeless. Their motto is “Homeless but Human,” which they carry out by loving others in the midst of their poverty just like God loves us no matter where we are in life. They want to spread awareness of their mission to college students nationwide and will do so by updating their identity and creating a promotional campaign to reach these college students.

The Solution

The work that Christ in the City does is sad but uplifting and wholesome at the same time. They care about the people around them and want to be good friends for people who do not have any. Christ in the City wants to be seen as hopeful and wholesome, so I utilized blues to show their helpful and caring nature. I also used yellow and green to show hope. The logo uses a mark representing where they were founded, Denver Colorado. However, there is more meaning in the mark. The city represents the people that they are helping, and the mountains symbolize hope. Throughout the design, I use images to show the people that Christ in the City is helping and what it is like to work with them. There is a mixture of sad and hopeful images reflecting Christ in the City’s work. The mural especially shows the hope that they bring to the homeless.
